Volunteer
Hike Leaders: Lead a group of climbers along a designated course. Duties include checking in with radio operators at designated points, knowing the location of each member of your group at all times, providing basic first aid if necessary, and running an independent training hike in New England between March 1 and July 1, 2012. Must have current first-aid certification, extensive White Mountains hiking experience, and prior demonstrated group-hike leadership skills.
Licensed Ham Radio Operators: Check in each climber and relay information to both the climb organizer and the next check-point volunteer via Net Control. Operators must have their own equipment and be willing to participate in pre-event training. In addition to radio skills, it is preferable that operators have hiking experience and first-aid certification as many of the positions involve climbing to designated spots along the trails.
Operational: Assist with trailhead and accommodation logistics. Some hiking experience preferred. Duties may include, but are not limited to, picking up food, setting up meals, running errands on the day of the hike, and transporting hikers, provisions, and first-aid materials to and from trailheads.
