Artificial Pancreas Could Aid Diabetes Patients

People who suffer from Type 1 diabetes must test their blood sugar levels because their bodies lack islet cells, a special type of cell in the pancreas. In this videocast, we explain how a team of bio-engineers at the University of California, San Francisco have set out to mimic the role of the pancreas with a small, implanted capsule that utilizes nanotechnology.
