Green Chemistry Day

March 24, 2011

Introduce students to the concepts of green chemistry with real-world industrial examples of sustainable practices, materials and products.

Learn about local issues and what chemists and researchers from the Warner Babcock Institute are doing to improve the quality of consumer products for the sake of our health and the environment. Engage in small group forums on topics that relate to solar energy, bio-based materials, and cosmetics; learn about the environmental and health implications of traditional consumer products; and make recommendations for future green chemistry research projects.

Scientists and volunteers from Beyond Benign will be on site to assist in hands-on activities related to green chemistry research.
